Silently,I opened the door and stepped outside to face the cutting air.The moon had alr eady lost some of its glow and the land was bathed in a dull mist.A lurid light in the east proclaimed the approach of day while the weatern landscape was bleak with some spo oky stillness like a wizard kingdom.What you could only hear was the creepy sounds,seem ingly out of the hell----the barking of dogs,the hammering of blacksmith,the lowing of cows and the crying of pigs under the butcher's knife. Gradually,the lurid light darkened and spread across the west.Every flower,every tree a nd every weed were bathed in the sunshine.Suddenly,it turned out that all the sounds were not for any me

Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa whe n he comes, however most times parents just eat them. Some children put socks and sacks up for the holding of the presents (that their parents put in). Rise and shine on Christmas morning! The children are always the first ones to wake up, some even do at four. Present wrappers everywhere! They look into their presents w ith a big smile on their face and oh dear „.I hope no one’ s disappointed. I feel sorry for anyone that got pink underwear. Children play while dinner is prepared by the adult s. The Christmas dinner are usually eaten together by relatives. The tradition of Chris tmas pudding and roosters are usually eaten with deserts afterwards. The rest of the da y is usually games and fun before the good days all come to an end. My uncle told me they were called pop song s. When I grew up, my music teacher found that I had a good voice, so she sent me to t he Children's Palace to study vocal mu-sic. From then on, I began my vocal music traini ng. And then I knew there were several kinds of songs, like folk songs, pop songs and s o on. What I had learned most was the songs for children. They were all simple ones but our teacher trained us very strictly. We practiced how to produce sound and how to mak e our expres-sion more natural and more pleasing. Those simple trai

ning didn't reduce m y interest in singing at all and I won awards one after another in several kinds of com petition. Actually I began to make up a dream of becoming a famous singer in the futur e. As time went by, I came to realize that my dream wouldn't come true for there were strict conditions of being a singer. But I still took singing as my hobby since I found in music the interests which were lost in the exams. When I put all my emotion into si nging a song, it gave me very good and very pleasant feelings, and a good chance to rel ax. Besides, it was a good way to learn things that couldn't be easily found in life. Now as I'm saying goodbye to my childhood my voice has changed into a deep male voi ce, and therefore I can sing a lot of songs written for adults. I am often deeply moved, by the melody or by what the song writers said. I can feel that these words come from the bottom of their hearts: time. Don't put off what can be done today until tomorrow. Being lazy will eventually lead to failure. Don't wait, because you don't know how long it will take when you put off your plan.

One of the difficulities to an international resolution to environmental issues is the difference in individual nations view and policies toward environmental protection. In order for international cooperation to occur and succeed, the nations of the world must submit themselved to international standards and supervision by an international c ommission elected by the participating nations of the world. All members must agree to abide by the standards established. The environmental issues facing each country are not unrelated to the well being of the rest of the world. The impact is long term and international in scope. Without int ernational cooperation and agreement to address such environmental issues as glacial me lting at the South Pole, depletion of the ozone layer, water pollution, air polution, e tc., the environmental conditions of the world will deteriorate to the detriment of eve ry nation, not just those that ignore or lack the resources and technology to resolve t heir individual environmental problems. As part of the same planet, it is the responsibility of each individual and nation to protect the global environment. Only international cooperation will provide the time ly solutions and the effectiveness needed to stop the deteriorating global environment.
