Magic Mirror

Bitty lived in town. She was a very good girl.

Bue,she was very ugly. She wanted so much to be pretty.

One day,a magician saw Bitty. Her kind heart touched him.

He asked her what she wanted to have.

Bitty said,"I want to have a mirror that is going to make me pretty."

The magician was worried.

He made the mirror,but it had one weakness.

He gave the mirror to her anyway and,said,

"Girl! Every time you look into the mirror,you'll get prettier,little by little. You should look into it only once a day.

If you look into it more often than that,

your face will change so much than people will not recognize you."

Bitty was delighted to have the mirror.

She looked into it once a day.

She was getting prettier,little by little.

One day,she got greedy and too proud of how good she looked.

"If I can be pretty,what does it matter whether or not people can recognize me?" So,she looked into the mirror twice a day.

She was getting much prettier,but no one could recognize who she was. She wanted to show off to her friends.

So,she met her friends.

"Hi,girls! It's me,Bitty."

"Who are you? You're no Bitty. Why do you act like her?"

Her friends could not recognize her.

She was sad and went home.

"Mom! I'm home."

"Who are you?"

"Mom,it's me,Bitty."

"My daughter is not as pretty as you are. Get out of here."

Bitty was lonely,because nobody recognize her.

Even her family could not recognize her.

She began to cry and thought,

"Even if I have to be ugly,again,I want to go back to the old days.

Then,I could live with my family,and hang around with my friends." It was too late to take back her greediness and pride.

You see,boys and girls!

There are more important things than how good you look.

贝蒂住在一个小镇里。她是一个很好的女孩。

但是，她非常难看。她多想变得漂亮。

有一天，一个魔术师看到贝蒂。她善良的内心打动了他。 他问她想要什么。

贝蒂说，“我希望有一面镜子，可以让我变得漂亮。” 魔术师有些担心。

有一天，对于自己的美丽，她变得贪婪和骄傲。

“如果我能变得更漂亮，人们认不认得出我什么关系呢？” 于是，她每天照两次镜子。

她变得十分漂亮，但没有人认出她是谁。

她希望向她的朋友炫耀。

所以，她去见她的朋友。

“嗨，姑娘们！是我，贝蒂。”

“你是谁？你不是贝蒂。你为什么像她那样打扮？” 她的朋友都认不出她。

她很伤心，回家去了。

“妈妈！我回来了。”

“你是谁？”

“妈妈，是我，贝蒂。”

“我的女儿没有你漂亮。离开这里。”

贝蒂很孤单，因为没有人认识她。

连她的家人都认不出她。

她哭了起来，并想，

“我想回到过去的日子，即使我会再次变得丑陋。

这样，我可以跟我家人生活在一起，和我的朋友一起玩。” 这时想收起贪婪和骄傲为时已晚。
